FRA is allowed to wiretap foreigners internet connections, phone calls that goes over the border and all radio emission. (Everyone is allowed to monitor radio emissions in sweden, except for some allocated frequency bands that the military owns?)

This information will be stored with the data retention directive:
- Who phoned who, and when they spoke to each others
- Which hardware serial numbers was used in the mobile phones (SIMD card + the phones own serial number)
- Where mobile phones are (this info is stored every time a phone call is made or received.)
- IP-telephones are also to be monitored, like normal phones.
- Who e-mailed whom, and when they wrote to each others.
The data retention directive will not be used to
- Monitor what web pages people visit (but SMILE29 extends the data retention directive somewhat towards this purpose, so this might not be true.)

Most monetary transactions between banks in the European Union is monitored by the USA TFTP according to the SWIFT agreement.
